In addition to my last entry, I wanted to add this conversation that I heard today. I was sitting in the food court at a shopping mall and a man and woman sitting beside me were having this discussion:

Woman: She kept on talking about how Bin Laden was going to bomb Canada. Have you heard anything about that?

Man: No, I'm not into the news, I don't follow it much.

Woman: I didn't know what to say to her, like, that's not going to happen here, why would it?

It was at this point that I was ready to get up and slam my chicken-caesar pita down on the table. How can people be so completely unaware of the world, so unware that there are horrible things outside their bubble of security, so incredibly naieve??? How can you not watch the news or read a newspaper? How can you live your life confined to the small space around you? Life goes beyond your job, beyond your clothing, beyond the sandwhich that you ate for lunch, beyond your town, city, and believe it or not, your country. Take a fucking look around you. If you opened your eyes you'd see a hell of a lot more than the weather outside.

I think you lost some shyness, either that or I officially know you too well. I guess it's a smokescreen effect huh....
I guess they call this the point of no return...?
